 Minutes:   The ISWCDEA Board will do its best to post the draft minutes of a meeting in a timely manner to this website.  After the minutes have been approved, it will be noted.  The minutes will appear on this website for one year.  After they are one year old, they will be removed from the website. 

ISWCDEA Winter Training 2023 Recap

Winter Training 2023 was held December 5th and 6th at the Northfield Inn in Springfield, Illinois.  The theme was "One Team-One Goal."  There were 147 in attendance for the meeting.

Topics for the meeting included Local Work Groups, Cultural Resources, Operations Budget and Quarterly Reports, SAM, GATA, New Employee forum, NRI Reports, PFC, Grant Writing, and STAR.  Presentations for these session can be found on the Training Presentations of the Employee Resources tab.  Our Hospitality Room featured a scavenger hunt and a live band, Gatorhead.

The Annual Meeting of the ISWCDEA was held at breakfast on December 6th, with several employees being recognized.  Jannifer Powelson was awarded the 2023 Outstanding District Employee Award. There were 17 Service Award recipients honored at the Annual Meeting, including a 40-year service recipient, Jim Nestleroad of Clark County SWCD.

AISWCD Summer Conference 2023 Recap

The Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts held their 75th Annual Meeting and Summer Training conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Springfield, Illinois from July 16 to July 18, 2023. Over the course of the three day event, attendees had the opportunity to learn from and engage with experts in the field of conservation agriculture and natural resource management...from farmers and ranchers to researchers and policymakers.   There were over 300 Attendees at the Conference.

There was a quorum for the business meeting.  There were six Resolutions and numerous proposed By-Law changes brought before the Member Districts.  Two of the Resolutions (2023-1 and 2023-6) were withdrawn,  one (2023-2) died for lack of a second,  one (2023-3) passed as originally written, and two (2023-4 and 2023-5) passed with amendments made to the wording of the Resolutions.  The proposed By-Law changes passed as presented.
